Chris graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He earned a Master of Science in Allied Health in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut in 2007. In 2026, he completed a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana. He is board certified in Orthopedic (OCS) and Sports Physical Therapy (SCS), a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), and a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). Chris supervises our Hebron office, serves as Administrator of our Medicare Rehabilitation Agency, and oversees our Sports Medicine Program. He is also certified in concussion rehabilitation as an ImPACT Trained PT. A lifelong athlete, Chris participated in football, lacrosse, wrestling, hockey, cycling, and biathlons. He helped establish local youth lacrosse programs and remains active as a high school and college lacrosse referee.

Dr. Skinner completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in 2007. He has a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine and is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS) by the Back School of Atlanta. Dr. Skinner has an extensive background in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He is now active coaching his children in youth soccer.

Jim Ferland graduated from the University of Vermont in 1989 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. He has extensive experience in neurology, orthotics and prosthetics, general rehabilitation, and orthopedics. Jim is trained in vestibular rehabilitation and specializes in treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). He has also completed concussion rehabilitation training with ImPACT Applications and is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). Jim brings extensive supervisory experience, including work in the outpatient physical therapy department at Gaylord Hospital. He supervises operations at our Colchester office and serves as Associate Administrator for our Medicare Rehabilitation Agency. A former adjunct professor at the University of Hartford, he currently coordinates clinical education for physical therapy students. A lifelong athlete, Jim played varsity basketball and cross country and remains active through cycling.

Dr. John Grimes earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Liberty University in Virginia, where he played basketball through intramurals and helped train the women’s basketball team as part of the practice squad. He later earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University. Since joining our practice, John has completed his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) training. John’s interest in physical therapy began after a high school running injury. Physical therapy helped him return to cross country during his senior year and inspired his desire to help others return to pain-free living and improve their quality of life. A Connecticut native from Litchfield County, John enjoys basketball, football, trips to the beach, bird watching, and is currently learning to play the piano.

Zach earned his Associate of Science through the Physical Therapist Assistant program at NEIT and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Physiology from ECSU. Before joining our practice, he worked in an orthopedic private practice in northeastern Connecticut and a skilled nursing facility focused on COVID-19 recovery. Zach is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). A 2009 graduate of Woodstock Academy, Zach played lacrosse and later returned as a lacrosse coach after graduating from ECSU. Outside the clinic, he enjoys fishing, downhill skiing, and exploring a variety of sports. Zach sees patients in our Colchester office, primarily team treating with Jim Ferland.

Nate joined PPTSM after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Stonehill College, where he competed as a Division I track and field athlete and served as team captain during his junior and senior years. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Tufts University School of Medicine. Since joining our practice, Nate has completed his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) training. His passion for rehabilitation developed through injuries he experienced as a high school and college athlete, inspiring him to help others overcome similar challenges and return to the activities they love. Nate remains involved in track and field as a part-time assistant coach at RHAM High School in Hebron. A Connecticut native, Nate enjoys sports, fitness, and is currently learning to golf and play guitar.

Marya earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Grand Canyon University in 2022, where she played rugby and assisted the sports performance program with track and field and women’s basketball. She later earned her Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Merrimack College. Marya is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification. Her passion for training and sports led to a career in collegiate strength and conditioning, working with Division I teams at GCU, UMass Lowell, and Texas A&M. As a personal trainer, she has helped clients of all ages improve strength, mobility, cardiovascular health, fitness, and overall well-being. A South Dakota native, Marya enjoys lifting, hiking, traveling, the beach, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Samantha Huebner

Dr. Samantha Huebner earned a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University. She began her career in a Women’s Health clinic, treating patients following breast cancer surgery and those affected by lymphedema. She has advanced training in corrective exercise during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Huebner is trained in IASTM–Graston Technique and is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). As a Certified Pilates Instructor, she also incorporates Pilates-based exercises into patient care. Outside the clinic, Samantha enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and two golden retrievers. A lifelong athlete and former equestrian and triathlete, she stays active through cycling, strength training, and Pilates.

Dr. Alexander Bartis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Kinesiology with a focus on nutrition from the University of Alabama, where he played club soccer and later served as manager of the Women’s Rowing Team. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education. Since joining our practice, Alex has completed his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) training. Alex’s passion for physical therapy began after experiencing a soccer injury in college, which sparked his interest in fitness, weightlifting, and human movement. He enjoys helping patients improve their quality of life, movement, and fitness through physical therapy. Born and raised in Wethersfield, Connecticut, Alex continues to enjoy an active lifestyle and has a strong passion for fitness and weightlifting.

Dr. Shea Frady earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from SUNY Potsdam, where she also played soccer. She went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Clarkson University. Shea’s passion for physical therapy began after watching her grandmother recover from a stroke through physical therapy. Her interest grew further after a high school soccer injury led her to experience physical therapy as a patient. With a lifelong passion for fitness and health, she enjoys helping others improve their movement and overall well-being. Born and raised in Upstate New York, Shea moved to Connecticut in 2024. Outside the clinic, she enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and being with her three Great Pyrenees.

Bridget earned her Associate of Science through the Physical Therapist Assistant program at NVCC. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Leisure Management with a concentration in Exercise Science from ECSU. Bridget began her career at one of the state’s largest skilled nursing facilities, where she discovered her passion for working with the geriatric population. Before joining our practice, she also gained experience in an outpatient physical therapy clinic and an independent senior living community. Outside of work, Bridget enjoys baking, crafting, and exploring local attractions with her family and their dog.
